Here I would like to share some hand-made things I made.
01.06.2026
Time: around 1.5 month.
Yarn: Katia Cotton‑Cashmere, 90% Cotton, 10% Cashmere. (around 12 balls of yarn)
Colour: rust.
Needles: 4.5 and 3.5 mm.
Oh where do I start.
So, overall it took me a year to make this cardigan work for me.
Originally it was my first crocheted project. But I didn’t like how it turned out. It was too short, too thick and too stiff (first photo). I also ran out of yarn and needed to buy more - it resulted uneven colour.
I wore it a couple of times, but mostly it was just collecting the dust in my wardrobe.
So, in March I made a bold decision - to unravel the whole thing and redo it - by knitting (that is why I called it a “Phoenix” cardigan).
I decided to knit using two threads, combining those that were slightly different in colour.
The cardigan turned out to be much lighter and softer. Buuut not perfect of course. I was following the tutorial on YT and was kinda surprised that neck/shoulders shaping wasn’t mentioned. But I decided to trust the process - and it was not a good idea.
The finished cardigan constantly goes up in the front, the shoulder sims are also sliding more towards my back. I decided to leave it for now, as it doesn’t cause a lot of discomfort.
Love it a lot!
(I really liked the yarn I used and I want to knit another cardigan with it in the future.)
Time: around one month.
Yarn: DROPS Nepal, 65% Wool, 35% Alpaca. (12 balls of yarn)
Colour: off white.
Needles: 4 and 5 mm.
I'm happy with the result - the sweater is soft and warm. I made the photo before washing it, after wash the stitches became more even, the shape stayed the same.
